However, this is one of the few I can think of where it's told from the view of the child and not the older characters (along with the more famous creepypasta "Mr. ![]() One cliched premise I see a lot in horror is a child who has an imaginary friend that turns out to be both real and terrifying. Then her friend turns out to be real, and offers to help her.in the worst way possible. ![]() Nothing she says works, no matter what fantastical traits she comes up with for him. I had a friend who lived in the air ventsĪ little girl is tired of the attention her parents are giving to her baby brother on the way, so she makes up an imaginary friend who lives in the air vents to get their attention. Once again, unlike Wrong Way Charlie, the disturbing content has substance to it. There's plenty of disturbing descriptions that tap into our claustrophobia, and how terrifying it would be to end up in a situation like this. This story is written by Elias Witherow, the author of Feed the Pig, and it shows. It's part of a game is called Crown the Clown, and it seems like fun at first. If this story were ever explained, it would completely ruin the horror.Īt a boy's birthday party, his grandparents give him a very interesting present: a plastic clown head to wear. The author was once asked on tumblr what the meaning of the story was, and the author said it had no meaning and left it up to the reader's interpretation, which I'm glad they did. The plot twist is one of the best ones I've seen in a nosleep story. It's very similar to the famous Candle Cove in that the horror comes from the reader not knowing what's going on. Then one day, the narrator learns that there's more to Emma than meets the eye. The narrator plays along with their game, but soon the game becomes a little too real. I should warn you that it contains a fair amount of gore and other disturbing contnet, but unlike "Wrong Way Charlie", the gore is used to add to the scariness of it, and isn't meant to be the scary part in and out of itself.Ī girl's friends in school constantly talk about this imaginary girl in their group named Emma. If you've ever had suicidal thoughts, this story does a good job scaring you out of it. ![]() This is another story that deserves to be one of the highest rated. (Hint: it ain't heaven.but it's not quite hell either.) There's only one way back, and it's not pleasant. Some parts of the story are a bit predictable (Remember what I said in the previous journal how a bad smell ALWAYS indicates a dead body?), but other parts left me quite surprised when I first read it.Ī man tries to commit suicide, only to learn the hard way what happens when you do so. It's short and simple compared to the other highly rated stories, yet it's effective. This is one of the highest rated stories on this subreddit, and for good reason. Soon he'll start to regret taking that box inside. Sometime later, the narrator receives a great big box marked "Return to sender". One day, the neighbor goes on a trip, and asks the narrator to take his mail, which the narrator agrees to do. I will do my best not to spoil the plot twist on each of them.Ī man has a very obnoxious neighbor, who constantly does stupid things to be posted on YouTube. I'll post the title of the story, a link so you can read it yourself, the premise, and my thoughts on it. Well, I'm going to be compiling a list of them here, in no particular order. So, after one of my previous journal entries, along with both of my creepypasta riffs, you're probably wondering if there's any stories on r/nosleep that I do enjoy. ![]()
